What is testicular (scrotal) ultrasound?
Testicular (scrotal) ultrasound is a non-invasive examination that allows, with a probe resting precisely on the scrotum, that is, the "bag" that contains the testicles, to evaluate its contents: testicle in its various components (Didymus, epididymis, vaginal tunic ) and spermatic cord.
What is the exam for?
Testicular (scrotal) ultrasound allows the volumetric and morphological evaluation of the site of the testicles, epididymis and vas deferens: it provides information on the structure of the testicles (for example, the presence of tumours) and on any pathologies of the testicular appendages (e.g. epididymal cysts, hydrocele).
